Hot air balloon pleasure in Belgium flights

Here are some frequently asked questions regarding ballooning in Belgium. If necessary, do not hesitate to contact us for more informations.

  Flight location: the choice of launch fields depends mainly on the wind direction at the time of the flight. Our pilots generally fly in a direction where they know there will be good landing sites. So our main flying regions are in Brabant Wallon (south of Brussels)and in the Ardennes (south of Belgium)

Are my children allowed to fly?
Yes, of course! We also propose reduced rates for children. Remember that an adult must accompany every children on board.Our balloons can accomodate 4 to 6 passengers. Bring your movie camera with you, and record the greatest moments of their new ballooning experience!

Is weather important? Ballooning usually take place in stable weather condition, with light winds on the ground, no rain and good visibility. Please bear with us if your flight has to be postponed or relocated due to weather conditions.

Security information: Before take-off, the pilot will give you a pre-flight briefing to acquaint you with the equipment and information you'll need to know during your flight.

How far do we fly? Depending on the wind, we may cover one mile or ten miles of ground. As balloons follow the wind, they have no mean for controlling lateral movements during flight. It is sometimes but rarely possible to fly back to the launchsite. Ask the pilot!

Are you anxious? For those of you who are quite timid about not having your feet on the ground, feel secure: you will find the motionless flight of a balloon easier to accustom yourself to than any other forms of flight. In fact, the basket hangs in the air mass in which it is suspended, and do not flicker.

What type of clothes? Simply dress to suit the season, with some sweatshirt for after landing. In fact, it is not cold in a basket. A four meters flame just above you keeps you warm during the flight. You will have no sensation of wind since the balloon flies with the wind and not against it. Good footwear are sometimes necessary, to cross some country fields.

Can I participate to inflation procedures?
Yes, of course! One of the interesting sights of ballooning is to assist the crew with inflation. We have experienced ground personnel, but we can understand that some of our passengers want to be more involved! Even after the flight, you may want to step inside the envelope to get a different view and feel the warm air on your face.But if you prefer, just watch!
